End the Wait Kansas ALERT

Below is a copy of a letter sent out by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services regarding upcoming listening sessions for the I/DD HCBS Waiver, which is set to expire on June 30, 2014.  If at all possible, you should try to attend and offer your best advice on ways the state could improve the I/DD Waiver.

March 5, 2014

I/DD Program Participants and Stakeholders,

We would like to invite you to a series of listening sessions regarding the renewal of the Home and Community Based Services Program for persons with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (HCBS-I/DD). These sessions, sponsored by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, are a part of the waiver renewal process. KDADS will be submitting the renewal to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by March 31, 2014.

Listening sessions are scheduled for the following dates, times and locations around the state. For those who may not be able to attend a meeting in person, two conference call sessions (one for waiver participants and one for CDDOs, providers and other stakeholders) have been scheduled as well.
