National Fragile X Awareness Day

A Message from the Executive Director
The Embrace of the Fragile X Community

Today is National Fragile X Awareness Day, so designated by Congress in the year 2000. At the NFXF, every day is National Fragile X Awareness Day, but we still greatly appreciate how the designation of July 22 sheds light on all Fragile X-associated Disorders and moves us a step closer to the day that everyone is properly diagnosed and receives the best available treatments. That includes the newly diagnosed and clinicians and scientists new to the field.

So today, I hope we can all celebrate how far we’ve come, acknowledge the challenges ahead, and take some comfort in the embrace that keeps us together and moving toward our common goals.

Sincerely,

Robert Miller
NFXF Executive Director

How You’ve Been Spreading Awareness
The month of July has been spectacular so far: you have shown us that Awareness truly begins with you! Thank you to those who have been doing their part to make this entire Awareness Month so special.

Many of you have been sharing our “31 Fragile X Facts” on social media with your friends and family. Today, we’ve put together a special infographic that everyone can share with their friends to keep spreading that awareness.

Our NFXF Let ‘Em Know Virtual 5K has been so successful we’ve sold out of shirts, but you can still participate by creating a fundraising page! Let’s keep up the great work—everyone has come together to make this event one of the strongest and most memorable in NFXF history!
And if you haven’t done so yet, you can help us reach the fundraising goal by donating online today!
