Managed Care information

We will be here for you to help you work through Managed Care!

Here’s some important information for you:

Parents who were affiliated with the CDDO in the past to provide Supportive Home Care are being contacted by the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).  It appears this is occurring because the State of Kansas required the MCOs to offer contracts to anyone that had previously been affiliated to provide Medicaid services.  This does not, however, mean that the parents can now contract to provide waiver services.  The KMAP Manual indicates that Personal Assistant Services must be paid through an enrolled Financial Management Services (FMS) provider (see below).

All Personal Assistant Services must be arranged for, and purchased under, the beneficiary’s or responsible party’s written authority and paid through an enrolled Financial Management Services (FMS) provider consistent with and not exceeding the beneficiary’s POC.

Parents cannot contract with the MCOs to provide waiver services.  They need to continue to utilize a FMS provider.  Please assist your parents who may be receiving this correspondence from the MCOs.  Thank you.
