SOAR Families
The Force was amazingly strong for our Star Wars SOAR R&R! Hear what one of our volunteers thought: “I cannot express to you the gratefulness I feel for the SOAR ministry! It is such a blessing and an eye-opener for me that helps me see how blessed I am and what a blessing these children of God are! I love it! Once again, I was more blessed than the family I served!”
We had 109 individuals with special needs (2 – 28 y/o), 53 siblings and 303 volunteers take part and SMILES EVERYWHERE! The 501st Legion Star Wars group came out in full character and were complete hit! Our older siblings had an great evening at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. It was awesome seeing all of the smiles on everyone’s face! We had several new SOAR families come for the first time as well as many new volunteers who served for the first time! We heard multiple stories of what a blessing the evening was to you. We loved seeing the smiles on the parents faces returning to pick up their kids, and the kids with huge smiles not wanting to go home! All of the pictures will be going on Facebook in the coming days! Please make sure you have shared your pictures with me by Wednesday, May 11! We would love to have you “like” our Facebook page and review us.
Our devotional for the evening was from Luke 8 about Jesus and the disciples in a boat during a great storm. Jesus used His Force (God) just like the Force from Star Wars. Many times we can be scared just like the disciples were, but we can use the Force (God) to help us through anything. Colossians 1:16-17 basically says that God has created all things and hold ALL things together. God is the true force! Who is your Force? God wants to be the Force of your life. MAY THE FORCE BE IN YOU!!
Our next event is our SOAR Special Needs Day Camp from July 18-22. We have now sold out, however we have started a waiting list. You can email [email protected] to get on the waitlist. We are looking for volunteers, they can register online now by clicking HERE!
Our next R&R will be Friday Nov 18, 2016! We will have a Christmas theme! We will not start registration untilSeptember 1 and will use online registration only again.

Grace Student Ministry SOAR on Sunday evenings
SOAR Adult Class on Sundays at 11. This is for individuals in Middle School and older
SOAR Moms Bunco Night – Fri, May 20, 630-9pm – At Grace Church in room 30. Bring your favorite snack and $5 and have a night of laughter, talking with other moms and just time to relax! No childcare available. Please RSVP with Pam Westbrook at westbrook6@yahoo. com
