Joy KC -A Non-Profit Program for Youth & Adults With Disabilities in Kansas City!

JoyKC is a faith-based non-profit that organizes monthly programs for youth (ages 15+) and adults with disabilities in the Greater Kansas City area.  Our local events are free and held year-round.  Each night has a unique theme.  A typical event will include various activities, crafts, and games as well as a message about Jesus.

JoyKC implements a “buddy system” where our “peers” (i.e. guests with disabilities) are paired with a volunteer for the night. Volunteers are trained prior to our events and given the tools to be successful in their roles. Volunteers can help participate and guide peers through activities, but are also there to just make sure everyone has a blast!  We believe that this model not only promotes our desired level of social engagement, but also allows peers to be given the necessary support when needed.
