The Kansas Council on Developmental Disability (KCDD)

The Kansas Council on Developmental Disability (KCDD) is seeking individuals to serve as Governor appointed Council Members to represent individuals with disabilities to ensure people have an opportunity to make choices regarding their participation in society and a quality of life.
KCDD believe that this work has never been more important than it is today.   We are entering  challenging times as economic pressures on individuals with disabilities increase and the demand for services continues to rise.  High quality service provision and representation is related to economic security and community engagement.

KCDD is established under the Federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, consistent with the laws of the State of Kansas. The KCDD Council Members is established as the authority to operate KCDD in accordance with its Bylaws and Board Policies.
KCDD develops a 5-Year State Plan; committing resources to Goals & Activities for  people with developmental disabilities throughout Kansas Communities; focusing on 4 Areas of Priorities: Self-Advocacy,  Employment, Ed ucation & Quality Assurance.  KCDD is committed to improving the lives of Kansans with disability through Systemic Change & Capacity Building, Productivity, Indepe ndence, Integration and Inclusion.

The Council meets 4 times a year.  All meetings are scheduled by the Council (as a whole) and held in Topeka except the KCDD Retreat, which sometimes changes locations.  All Council Members are expected to attend meetings regularly that are held in accessible locations with other accommodations available upon request.  The Council will provide lodging the night before if you live over 100 miles from Topeka.

Travel Expenses Reimbursements:

Miles & Meals – Reimbursed on Payment Request Form according to the State of Kansas rate and payment deposit in your bank.

Lodging -KCDD will make your reservations and pay all lodging.
