Superhero SOAR R&R Recap, Bunco Night and other FUN events ahead!

We want to share this with you from Grace Church!
We had a SUPER night for our Superhero SOAR R&R on Friday! God proved to be the Ultimate Superhero and blessed us with 125 individuals with special needs (1 – 30 y/o), 66 siblings and 333 volunteers! Our older siblings had an AMAZING time swimming at Blue Valley Rec! It was awesome seeing all of the smiles on everyone’s face! We had several new SOAR families come for the first time as well as many new volunteers who served for the first time! We heard several stories from our families on how the evening blessed them and how blessed they were to be able to go out and relax. We loved seeing the smiles on the parents faces returning to pick up their kids, and the kids with huge smiles not wanting to go home! All of the pictures will be going on Facebook in the coming days! Please make sure you have shared your pictures with me by Wednesday, Mar 1! We would love to have you “like” our Facebook page and review us.

Our devotional for the evening shared that Jesus is the original and Ultimate Superhero. Jesus has amazing superpowers. He heals with sick, casts out demons, and can raise the dead. His powers are real. A Superhero sacrifices their life to save someone. Jesus saves us from ourselves, from sin, from Satan, and from death.  He won the victory over death through His resurrection. He took our sin upon Himself and received our punishment, so that we might be free from guilt. We simply believe in Him as our saving Superhero. Once we make God our Lord and Savior we too can be a superhero by doing three things.  First we can rely on strength from the ultimate Superhero – we know that through Christ ALL things are possible (Mark 10:27). Second, we decide that we want to serve God and others – we should commit to serve others. And finally, we need to accept the missions that God gives us – ask God to help you recognize the abilities He has given you and notice the opportunities that He brings to you. Let’s all be like Jesus and be Superheroes for Jesus.
