Waiver Integration Public Meetings & Conference Calls, HCBS program Information

Waiver Integration Public Meetings and Conference Calls
November 10th-17th

The Kansas Department for Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) are proposing the integration of the Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) Medicaid waiver programs. The State is proposing an 1115 waiver amendment that will integrate current HCBS waiver services and allow waiver participants to access any available program service, if the consumer has a demonstrated need for the service.

The goal of waiver integration is to create parity for populations served through HCBS programs, offer a broader array of services, improve transitions between HCBS programs, support development and expansion of community-based services, and to make things simpler for KanCare members. The integration of the HCBS program will include populations currently served on the Autism, Frail Elderly (FE), Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD), Physical Disability (PD), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), Technology Assisted (TA), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) programs.

The following public meetings and conference calls have been scheduled to allow the State to solicit input from consumers and stakeholders on the best way to accomplish these goals. Waiver Integration Public Meetings and Conference Calls
Meetings are November 10th-17th.  All meetings will be held at 1:30-3:30 p.m. (for providers) and 5:30-7:30 p.m. (for consumers).
