New KanCare website answers questions.

The State of Kansas has launched a new website that is designed to answer questions regarding the state’s effort to remake the Kansas Medicaid program. The website http://www.kancare.ks.gov/ is designed to help both providers and beneficiaries.
Within the website there is a link meant to help providers sign up with each of the three managed care companies. The state is encouraging all providers to contract with all three managed care companies or risk having their patients assigned to other providers, which is or has been a concern of advocates for the programs beneficiaries.
There is also a link designed for beneficiaries to begin the process of selecting a company that will manage their care.
KanCare is scheduled to launch January 1, 2013, but must receive federal approval.
Now is a perfect time to submit any comments you may have regarding the KanCare proposal to the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. Below is a link to submit these comments. The open comment period runs from August, 21, 2012 through September 21, 2012. You should have your comment posted no later than September 20, 2012 to ensure it is included for consideration.
